Meet the team!
dasLAUFWERK is a team effort!
On this page you will find out how the idea came about and what (or rather: who) brought me into the dog world.

The team

VANESSA
She has been working in behavioral consulting for five years, focusing on rescue dogs and fear behavior. A creative, chaotic mind with an eye for detail and a strong sense of justice. She can't function without caffeine.

YUKI
A young Bulgarian who, as a foster dog, stole my heart so much that he had to stay. He turns everything upside down with his charm, wit, and age-appropriate recklessness.
As a loyal co-walker, he accompanies me on our tours.

MARA
The one with whom it all began, and who paved the way to needs-oriented cohabitation nine years ago. The fact that she can't stand other dogs isn't a problem, as she's enjoying her retirement to the fullest.
My path to dogwalking
Walking several dogs at the same time? For nine years, that was definitely out of the question for me.
On the contrary: when Mara and I first met, we struggled a lot with her fear of other dogs and the associated reactivity.
Today, that's no longer an issue, and she can even meet strange dogs without immediately wanting to eat them. She has supported me and other trainers in training. But it takes time and skill.
And, of course, a suitable counterpart—which is where Yuki comes in.
Yuki is the complete opposite of Mara, which was quite challenging for me at first. Dog one wants to meet dogs —dog two wants to leave— me as their owner stands stoically in the middle and wonders why I didn't just get fish...
But here, too, progress came very quickly, mainly because the chemistry between Mara and Yuki is just right.
Yuki has only one problem: he has severe seperation anxiety. And well, there's a second one – he also won't stay alone with other people or walk with them. So we had two offers from lovely dog walkers, but it wasn't the right thing for Yuki.
But since this little dog is great with other dogs and always polite, witty, and encouraging in a group, the idea of starting “his” own dog walking service began to take root in the back of my mind. So I turned down my job offer in the public sector, and now here we are.
Rescued from the streets of Bulgaria as an unwanted puppy, he now has his own business—if that's not a success story, I don't know what is.
